The Aboriginal Elders Village delivers care and support to residents with high and low care needs as well as respite care.
The Aboriginal Elders Village provides a range of services tailored to meet individual needs including:
- Friendly, supportive staff, 24 hours a day.
- Single furnished rooms with ensuite.
- Meals.
- Linen.
- Lounge and dining.
- Recreational activities.
- Transport to outings.
- Cleaning and laundry.
We Also Assist With:
- Personal care and hygiene.
- Daily living activities.
- Access to physiotherapy, podiatry and other therapy.
- Finance management.
- Visiting your doctor.
Who Can Live Here?
To become a resident of the Aboriginal Elders Village, you must require daily support and care.
Prior to entry, you will need to undertake an assessment with the Registered Nurse.
Your Cultural Needs are Important
Your cultural needs are given the utmost consideration and support is provided as follows:
- Social and emotional wellbeing.
- Family visits.
- Cultural information.
- Referrals to other services.
We aim to provide a high standard of individual culturally appropriate care for all Elders who reside at the Village.
Specialist Services
- Podiatry - provided inhouse at no cost to the resident.
- Physiotherapy - provided inhours at no cost to the resident.
- Dental & Optometry - visits to the Village can be arranged when required. Some cost may be incurred by the resident.
- Activity Coordinator - on staff to provide culturally appropriate social activities and outings.
- Hairdressing - available at resident's own cost.
Volunteer Services
Volunteers assist on a regular basis with activities, craft work and visiting residents.
Anyone is welcome to apply to the Aboriginal Elders Village to become a Volunteer. We are always in need of this assistance.
